The Huff, not bad at singing

This is the criticized, loved, hated but by all means famous David Hasselhoff performing in America's Got Talent.
I must confess it surprised me so see and hear him singing, I think he doesn't do it bad at all, no wonder why he is the pride of Germany in America.
His vocal coach must be proud of him, for TV he did it here and also at the end of his roast in Comedy Central where he was much better but it was not easy to find the video.
In my humble opinion as Delray Beach Vocal Coach, I think his singing lessons have paid off.
What do you think?

Auto-tune, how much?

Listening to the radio en 2012 I am noticing tendencies in the commercial vocalists world. Great and popular singers are splitting teams between the auto-tuned and the raw natural vocal tracks, of course keeping in mind the style of music, R&B uses it more, Heavy Metal not so much.

The most hardcore singers we hear in the radio are all awesome vocal performers, with great vocal training and stage presence and according to their musical inclination they and their producers decide to sound in very particular ways, one of them is the auto tune.

Any vocal coach would advise against auto-tune, however, I think it could help you get out there, but there's a particular formula to use it: not too little that it becomes only help but enough so you can hear it, and not too much that discredits you as a vocalist.
Singing lessons are the key to render a decent vocal track. Talk to your producer and your voice trainer, they can help you figure out if, and the amount of auto-tune you should use in your mix.'
Remember, 3 or 4 sets of ears listen more than one.

Skype Vocal Training

If you have always wanted to sing, but weren't sure you could do it, nothing helps you build confidence more than vocal training. In vocal training, you will learn the techniques you need to become a good singer and more importantly to train your voice to do what you want it to do. You will gain self-assurance from weekly or bi-weekly vocal training sessions with a professional voice instructor. Gain knowledge, technical skill, and stage presence and have fun while doing it!

Singing can be one of the most enjoyable hobbies or professions that you will ever have. If you have the desire, but lack the skill or the confidence, make the investment in a vocal coach. Even if you cannot find a local voice instructor, you can take your voice lessons via Skype. Skype is a video-conferencing software that is free to use. You can video-call anywhere in the world with Skype.

Jordy Marin of Delray Beach, Florida offers voice lessons from his music studio and also via Skype. Jordy Marin says that "Skype voice lessons are convenient, affordable, and still one on one sessions. I even have a few local students who use Skype for the convenience." If you are still making excuses for why you have not signed up for voice lessons, here is one more piece of advice - "Trying something new can be scary, but you know what's even scarier? Regret! You only live once! Just Do It!"
